Gameplay[]

In Trine, you switch between three separate characters who each do fundamentally different things, in order to defeat enemies and solve puzzles.

  • The wizard, who has the powers of platform creation and telekinesis. Multiple boxes and planks can be created and stacked to easily get past obstacles. These are created via drawing shapes with the mouse. The boxes and planks can also be used to crush enemies. The wizard can also create fixed floating platforms.
  • The knight, who deals the most damage offensively and is the only one capable of defending. The knight can use a flaming sword or hammer and throw large objects.
  • The thief, who has a long ranged bow and a grappling hook for quick mobility. Multiple arrows can be fired at a time for high damage. The grappling hook also goes far enough to allow for easy swinging through levels, as long as you hook into the correct material, like wood.
