Punishment is a game developed by Mark Essen in the game creation program Game Maker, and released in 2005.

GameplayEdit

Punishment, a platformer designed to be as frustrating as possible, sees you climbing a set of screens in tower fashion while indirect hindrances try to prevent you doing so. Such hindrances include the screen rotating, either through the level design or through hitting eyeballs seen in certain levels, and icons which reverse the left and right key effects (meaning right moves you left and vice versa). Instead of being killed, the risk comes from falling downwards, as, particularly in higher-up levels, you could end up dropping several screens with one mistake.

TriviaEdit

This was the last game released by Mark Essen for two years, in which he created 2007's Flywrench.
